Zero Tolerance has just released a new knife and that knife is the 0357, a classic flipper design knife. This knife has some similarities to it’s predecessor, the ZT series. Zero Tolerance has built this knife for performance, but without the ridiculous ticket price. One of the key selling points of this knife is that it features the Speed-Safe mechanism.
The 0357 is quite rugged in stature, and is intended to be your everyday carry knife. This blade was designed in-house by ZT’s design team and is built to last. It features a 3.25 inch drop-point harpoon-style wedge blade. It is made from CPM-20CV steel and is available in different finishes, such as stone-wash and black-wash coatings. The lock is a liner lock and the knife opens with a flipper tab, similar to other ZT models.
One of the key features of this knife is the Speed-Safe mechanism. The Speed-Safe mechanism is proprietary technology owned by Zero Tolerance’s parent Company KAI and designed by Ken Onion, an influential figure in the knife scene.
Although this mechanism is rather common on Kershaw knives, it is only one of four ZT models which feature it.
The 0357’s handle is similar to other ZT models. A slight curvature shapes the profile of the blade. The handles are made from G-10, rather then stainless steel and has a lanyard loop for easy accessibility. The 0357 weighs 4.3 ounces and comes with a loop-over pocket clip.
The 0357 was announced a few days ago and should be available for purchase shortly. Although efforts were made to maintain a high performance-to-price ratio, because of the fact that it’s a high-performance knife, it still demands a hefty price tag of $185 for the stone-wash model.
