Bark River Knives, a family-owned business, is releasing a sequel to the popular Shinigami Blade. This is a smaller knife and is being called the Kitsune. It’s lighter and made from a different steel.
The Shinigami was released last year in October. They tried to adapt elements of Japanese swords into a more modern fixed blade knife. It features a full-tang construction is made from CPM-154 steel. This type of steel is popular for it’s edge-retaining and corrosion resistant qualities. The blade is 3.7-inches, which is much smaller then the 9-inch Shinigami blade.
The Kitsune knife has a slightly elongated handle and the blade has a curving architecture. It sports an oblong lanyard whole on the handle. Handle material selections vary depending on the model.
Bark River Knives also includes a leather sheath with the knife.
Other knives supposedly being released this year by Bark River Knives include the Wasp, the Golok II and a new Smoke Jumper.
